Excavat was engaged by head contractor Clelands Construction to carry out all earthworks and civil preparation for the redevelopment of St Joseph’s School Hāwera — a project that delivered 10 new classrooms and a 2,300m² outdoor learning and play area for the students of the school.
Our scope covered the full civil earthworks package, including: pile hole drilling for the junior classroom block, bulk cut and fill for both the senior block and hardcourt platforms, and final landscape excavations.
Working within a live school environment required careful sequencing and close coordination with Clelands throughout. The project was delivered in 5 phases to ensure a smooth process and minimal disruption while construction took place.
