Ōpunake Beach was facing a significant issue with an old retaining wall that had begun to fail due to major erosion over time. We addressed the problem by excavating new footings and supplying and laying a solid concrete footing for the new wall. We then installed an EnviroCon Stonebloc retaining wall, known for its quality and aesthetically pleasing design.
After the wall was in place, we backfilled it to ensure stability. To enhance the overall effectiveness of the solution, we extended the stormwater release outlet and added a boulder revetment to the ends of the wall, providing additional protection against erosion.
